Terms of use
These terms apply to kurajapan.org, KURA's data downloads and the KURA connector (https://mcp.kurajapan.org/mcp). KURA is operated by KURA (operator to be confirmed). By using them you accept these terms.
What KURA is
KURA is a free, read-only registry of travel facts for the Echigo-Yuzawa / Minamiuonuma corridor in Niigata, Japan: bus routes, restaurants, stations and key facilities. Each fact shows its source, the date it was last checked and how it was confirmed.
KURA does not take bookings, sell tickets or confirm availability. It does not include JR train times; use JR East's official sources for rail.
Check before you rely on it
Timetables, opening hours and closures change, and weather (especially snow) disrupts service. KURA flags facts that are past their re-check date and facts copied from third-party listings that the business has not confirmed. Before you travel or set out for a meal, check with the operator or the business, especially for the last bus of the day.
AI assistants that use KURA write their own answers. KURA supplies the facts, but it does not control how an assistant phrases, combines or translates them.
Using the connector
- You need to sign in. Keep your account to yourself.
- There are rate limits per user. Do not try to get around them, overload the service or copy the registry in bulk through the connector; the open data downloads listed on this site are there for that.
- Do not use KURA to break the law, or to send unwanted messages to the businesses listed.
- We may suspend access that breaks these terms, and we may change, pause or end the service.
Reusing KURA's content
KURA's own content (summaries, translations and verification metadata) is licensed under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 (CC BY 4.0, https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/). Credit it as "KURA (kurajapan.org)". Each record keeps its source's own terms, shown in its source_license field. Business names and trademarks belong to their owners.
No warranty
KURA is provided free and "as is". To the extent the law allows, we make no promise that it is complete, current or available at any given time, and we are not liable for loss arising from reliance on it, such as a missed bus or a closed restaurant. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
